日本のお正月あそび
お正月になると、昔からいろいろな遊びが楽しまれてきました。
凧あげ、こま回し、かるた——
その中でも、羽子板（羽根つき）は、女の子のお正月遊びとして親しまれてきたものです。
When the New Year comes, people in Japan enjoy many kinds of traditional games.
They fly kites, spin tops, and play karuta.
Among these games, hanetsuki—played with hagoita paddles—has long been a New Year’s game mainly for girls.

お正月の遊びって、昔は分かれてたんだよね。
男の子は凧あげ、女の子は主に羽根つき。
New Year games were different long ago.
Boys flew kites, and girls mostly played hanetsuki.

今の感覚だと、ちょっと不思議だよね。

元気で一年過ごせれば、それでいいかな。
